The UvA climbs World Rankings

The University of Amsterdam (UvA), as it has in previous years, ranks as the best University in the Netherlands in the recently published THE QS World University Rankings 2009, the annual survey of the world's best universities.

Finance Group Nr. 2 Outside US

The Finance Group of the University of Amsterdam was ranked Nr. 2 (after LBS) outside the US, and Nr. 23 Worldwide in a new Finance ranking. The ranking looks at the 300 most cited articles published in the area of Finance during the period 2000-2006. The ranking can be seen in Table 9 of the article below.

The paper by Alessandro Beber, Andrea Buraschi, and Francis Breedon, "Difference in Beliefs and Currency Risk Premia" has been accepted for publication at the Journal of Financial Economics.

Two papers by Stefan Arping accepted for publication

The papers "Public Initiatives to Support Entrepreneurs: Credit Guarantees versus Co-Funding" and "Strategic versus Financial Investors: The Role of Strategic Objectives in Financial Contracting" will be published in the Journal of Financial Stability and Oxford Economic Papers respectively.

ABS Accounting Section researchers win European Best Published Article Award

An article by Prof Brendan O'Dwyer and PhD candidate Niamh O'Sullivan of the Amsterdam Business School's Accounting Section, has won the 2010 French Social Investment Forum (SIF) award for best European published academic article on sustainable finance.

Cooperation agreement between IIM Lucknow and the FEB

The director of the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow , Dr Devi Singh, visited the FEB on 6 May 2009. The purpose of the visit was to meet FEB dean Tom Wansbeek in order to discuss the possibilities of cooperation between the two schools.
